Thank You

I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind thoughts and words regarding Stormy. It means more than you know that people I have never met and reside around the country took the time to read and send an email about our pet. My wife and I really appreciate it.

Why Did I Start This Blog?

Simply put - To help educators in Georgia and around the country. Educating educators on their retirement has become increasingly more important to me through the years as I have watched numerous educators make unwise decisions. I feel that they unfortunately are not always given a proper education concerning their retirement and the options available with both pros and cons.

With those thoughts in mind, I created this FREE site that I designed specifically for educators after more and more educators contacted me to ask for advice. It just seemed logical that instead of answering the same questions over and over via e-mail, I could post here to answer the questions.

The blog and the posts are just my opinions. Everyone is different with different goals, risk tolerances, and situations, so what I might suggest to one person may not be the same for another person. It is always best to research, research, and seek professional advice with your own financial advisor.

As for me, I am NOT a salesman for any product for educators or their retirement. I am NOT employed by a broker. I am an independent advisor that must adhere to the policy of doing what is in the best interest of my clients. I do not receive compensation from ANYONE other than my clients. There is a stated fee schedule, and those are the total of any fees paid. In this forum, I am a completely unbiased observer that listens to the issues that affect educators and just wants to help.

My family's background has always been in education. It started with my grandparents who were lifelong educators in Texas, then I was married to a Georgia educator whose family had an even longer history of educators, and finally my brother who is just starting his career as an educator. It is because of these important individuals in my life that I felt the need to learn more about educator retirements and Georgia retirements in particular. Since 1998, I have dealt with various issues in regards to retirement options for educators. It is due to these issues that I have researched, advised, and become knowledgeable of the solutions and problems associated with educators.
